Ow ow ow ow ow! Sunburn! Ow! Can not find the Bactine since we moved. Ow ow ow ow.

We had our new neighbors over last night. They seem pretty nice. And the girl basically asked if she could pirate our wireless connection. Then later revealed that she works in a boot store and offered to bring us free shoes. I suggested that she could do anything wanted with our wireless connection. Have at it!! Seriously, internet connection in trade for boots? Uh huh!

Tonight is the Cory and Ben show. (Cory Branan and Ben Nichols for those of you who haven’t been obsessively reading everything I write.) I already feel hungover in anticipation of it. Also so giddy that I can’t even really think about it.

I am still looking for someone to draw a tattoo design for me. It’s fairly simple (for people who can draw anyway) and I have examples and stuff to explain what I’m looking for. Any takers? Any at all?

  1. YOU ARE GOING TO SEE CORY?!?

Omg I am so jealous I can hardly see!

    Have an awesome awesome time!!!

  2. Cory AND Ben. Seriously, I can’t even think about it. GAH.

  3. Can you see me drooling from there? You should be able to, it’s that obvious.

    SIGH.

I’ve gotta come back down and see you guys and go to shows. Maybe after I get the new knee installed. Sigh again.

  4. Those bastards. Can’t believe they dissed NC on this little tour. ::pouts:: I expect a report, missy.

  5. Hey, what is your opinion of The New Tragedies EP? I like it pretty well, could’ve done w/out the war protest song; it’s bizarrely cutesie for a war protest song. My favorite is Chandelier, I think…although I love the Fripp/Eno guitar sound on the first track.

  6. Ha! Actually the war protest song is my favorite currently. Review on HCT forthcoming! (like maybe next week)

  7. i’m having a hard time liking Emotionalism as much as i’ve liked previous records. but sometimes i’m just like that. ask me again in a week and i’ll probably tell you it’s my favorite.

i think it’s because there seems to be a lack of their more jaunty tunes? “Talk on Indolence” is probably my favorite song of theirs and I like it when they go a little bit crazy and they didn’t seem to really do that on this one. Convince me otherwise, JJ!

  8. My oldest has sunburn. He went swimming with a friend and wouldnt let the mother spray him with sunscreen. Bad ass!
    Free Boots is good!!!

  9. oh and also, tell Cory to get his ass back out to LA! heidi and i will make him pie if he does. and really, who says no to pretty girls with pie?

    communists, that’s who.

  10. I actually like Emotionalism best so far. It’s less frenetic and clearly more carefully put together than the previous albums. And just personally, I think the songs are a little more grown up and therefore resonate with me more.

  11. Of course! What I remember anyway!

  12. I’m just an idiot and stayed out langer than I should have. *sigh*

    But yeah, boots are GOOD!

  13. Squeeeeeeeeee, pretty pretty music. Thank you!

  14. Glad you like! Glad to share!

  15. Well I wouldn’t be surprised if Cory was a communist, but it is pretty possible that he likes pie. I know he likes pretty girls, if his songs are any indication.

  16. The pie jokes here re: Cory are killing me considering how much he talks about pussy.

  17. so, he’s not gay then? *snerk*

speaking of gay, i found the song you requested.

  18. Sadly, he’s not gay, but I wonder if there would be any interest if I wrote a Ben and Cory slash fic for a romance for an epublisher.

  19. Did you ever find a tat designer? I have a friend who works with inkers sometimes, and she face paints when she’s not working on her own creations. She would likely want to charge you a service fee but, if you want to go that route, hit me and I’ll send you info.

  20. Er…I spoke with my friend, and it’s probably a “never mind.” She’s pricey. Talented though.

  21. Thanks for thinking of me. I have people I can pay to do it, I was just hoping to find someone who actually knew me to do it out of the kindness of their heart! Plus I already have the design, it’s simple, it just needs a tidier drawing, you know?

  22. Yeah, I was hoping she’d be game for a freebie. But she earns her living doing art, so her way is smarter (though disappointing).
